Two people were injured early this morning after a vehicle driving the wrong way in Haltom City struck another vehicle head on.

The vehicle was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Airport Freeway at Minnis Drive at approximately 5 a.m. when it hit the other car.

Both drivers were transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. The driver who caused the accident is listed in serious condition. The driver who was struck had non-life threatening injuries and is expected to recover. Neither vehicle was carrying any other passenger.

The crash is still under investigation. Airport Freeway, also known as Texas 121, was closed for approximately three hours as the accident was cleared. Authorities do not know why the driver was heading the wrong way down the highway, and neither of the drivers names have been released.

The car accident lawyers based in Fort Worth at Anderson, Cummings & Drawhorn, LLP express their condolences to the families of these two drivers, and hope that each recovers quickly.

Head-on collisions are one of the most dangerous types of car accidents. The amount of force generated when two cars collide from opposite directions often leads to catastrophic injuries.
