Filing an Insurance Claim After An I-35 Crash

In light of the recent, tragic multi-vehicle crash that took place on I-35 in Fort Worth on Thursday morning, many victims, injured motorists and their families may be contacted by insurance representatives in an effort to resolve their potential damages claim.

It is very important to understand that insurance companies have no interest in offering you a fair and just settlement for your claim. Their obligation is to shareholders and other beneficiaries – not to individuals and families that may have been involved in the collision.

According to Police, the incident – which involved anywhere between 75 to 100 cars, trucks and semitrailers – was a result of icy conditions caused by sleet and freezing rain from last night. A winter storm has dropped snow, ice and sleet across the U.S. in the past week and more ice storm warnings have been issued by the National Weather Service, Yahoo News reports.

At least 36 people were taken to the hospital and many had critical injuries. Many people needed help getting out of their vehicles.

First responders had to put a salt/sand mixture on the ground to make it safer to walk on the slick roadway. Several of them fell as they tried to move around to assist crash victims.
